Dear Emmalyn: 9 Months

9 months old and harder than ever to snap a good picture of!  You like to move and you do not sit still for more than two seconds at a time!  You are currently weighing in at 19.5 pounds (75th %tile) and measuring 29" (95th %tile).  You are about to outgrow your infant car seat so I guess we better get on finding you a new one!

Just like every other month this one has been so much fun to experience with you!  Unfortunately mommy had to go back to work this month so that was pretty horrible but we have both adjusted well and you are doing great at your new sitters (which you only have to go to two 1/2 times a week so that's good).  

Here are mommy's favorite highlights from this month:

• Well the biggest and most exciting event of this past month was that you are officially a crawler!  The day you turned 8 months, you just took off!  Mommy even caught it on video :)
• Now that you are more mobile you are also climbing and standing on EVERYTHING!! It's exciting for you but scary for mom!  You have gotten way too many bumps and bruises this month!
• Speaking of bumps and bruises you took your first real tumble this month too.  We took a trip to Arizona to see Uncle Matt and Aunt Marlenna and while mommy was in the bathroom somehow you ended up from the couch on the floor.  Mommy heard you cry and ran out but luckily you were just fine. :)  You're pretty tough!
• You are also cruising around everything now and leaving one piece of furniture to grab another.  You're so brave!
• You also stood up all by yourself this month for about 30 seconds!  It was pretty exciting for everybody involved!
• You love to sing and to chat these days!  Whenever there is music or mommy is singing you to sleep you just sing right along!
• You also really love to chat in bathroom stalls.  I'm assuming it's because you like the echo.  It's pretty hilarious!
• You have finally added "m" to your repertoire of consonants and are babbling "mama". After hearing "dada" so much I am loving it!
• Your current favorite activity is pulling out every DVD we own one by one and throwing it on the ground.  This one is not so exciting for mom but you sure do love it!
• You still love to swing and be outside.  I think it's your favorite!
• You FINALLY got your top two middle teeth!  Whew!  So now you have 6 teeth and they are so precious but you are also learning to bite and despite my best efforts to teach you otherwise you think it's so funny.  Not too sure what I am going to do about that!
• Another new habit that is not really mommy's favorite is you drink the bath water all the time now! Ewwww.
• You hair continues to come in more and more every day and I think it gets blonder and blonder too!
• You continue to be a great eater and will eat just about everything!  Current favorite: pudding ;)

You are such a sweetheart and you just have the best, most contagious personality.  I cannot wait to watch it bloom as you continue to grow!  Can't wait to see what month 9 has in store!
